The Secret to Health is in Paying Attention to Details
How well do you pay attention to details? A lot of people write to us asking how they can make themselves and their families healthier. Our first advice is to pay attention to details — look for (and avoid) chemicals at every turn.
Artificial ingredients are toxic to your body. If you want to be healthy, you need to get these out of your life. You have to be a detective of sorts. To spot them, merely look for chemical names on food package labels, personal care products and household products. Classes of toxic chemicals in food are environmental contaminants, natural toxins, pesticide residues and food additives.
Obvious toxic chemicals are MSG and aspartame, but others include Acesulfame-k, riboflavin, thiamine mononitrate, sodium aluminum phosphate, butylated hydroxyanisole, butylated hydroxytoluene, potassium bromate, and saccharin.
Your best bet is still to eat organic foods. Natural isn’t good enough because the word has lost its meaning and there are no regulations guiding what may be termed natural. And remember that shopping at Whole Foods or Trader Joes is not good enough because these chains and others carry a lot of chemical-infused foods that you should avoid. Buyer beware of the chemicals — and avoid them at all costs for the sake of your health.
