A PERSONAL JOURNEY TO HEALTH AWARENESS

Many years ago, my wife Janice became very ill. She was in her early 30s at the time.
There were problems with her liver and she suffered from migraines as well as chronic fatigue so bad that she would fall asleep in the middle of the day in her office.
Medical doctors were unable to help her and her health was failing fast. Vitamin pills and multivitamins failed us as well. Everyday was full of unending pain, misery and a sense of helplessness.
I myself suffered from chronic sinus headaches since the age of 12. These were so debilitating that I missed school, work and quality of life.
GETTING TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM
A number of sources, including a close friend who was a chiropractor, led us to information on alternative nutrition.
I began reading everything we could on the topic. Each book told me the same thing — our lifestyle had to change from the ground up.
It seemed an impossible challenge. Everything we knew about eating was wrong. We were surrounded by fast food, harmful chemicals and preservatives, and processed foods that were bad for us.
These were the foods we grew up with – the foods we’d been eating for years. Had we been causing our own health problems? The prospect of this was overwhelming.
TRYING A NATURAL APPROACH
Finally, we decided there was nothing else to lose and everything to gain:
- We purged our kitchen pantry of grocery store foods and restocked with items from the local health food store.
- We began only buying only organic fruits and vegetables.
- We carefully read the ingredients on every package of food we found to make sure there was nothing artificial, containing trans fats or made with sugars.
- We also began taking whole food supplements.
Within a matter of two months, life had changed drastically for the better.
I WANTED TO LEARN WHY NUTRITION WORKED
Inspired, I began to pursue clinical nutrition with a passion. I had experienced first hand that nutrition could drastically improve our health, but I still wanted to know how and why.
I was driven to broaden my knowledge base and share what I found with others.
I knew there had to be a factual, scientific, biochemical basis behind nutrition and how foods impact our bodies for better and for worse.
In the following years of hard study and eventually practicing nutrition in my own clinic, I learned to tell the difference between new age mumbo jumbo and scientifically-founded nutrition and natural health care practices.
I learned to merge modern research with the ancient art of eating for health.
NUTRITION BASED IN SCIENCE
I began to thoroughly research foods from all around the world, studying what effects they have on our bodies and how certain nutrients function separately and together (synergistically) in our systems — in essence: how food nutrients work to heal and prevent disease within the human body on a biochemical level.
Using this research, I worked with NutriPlex Formulas to develop their line of the highest-quality, scientifically-based, nutrient-rich whole food supplements.
Today, I continually research foods, develop and improve our whole food formulas, consult with patients, write books and articles, and advise thousands of doctors and health care practitioners around the country.

I can truly say that good nutrition saved our lives. My family stuck with those nutritional changes we made years ago. Today all of our old health problems are gone. When new ones crop up, I turn to nutrition to resolve them.
