Could You Be More Beautiful?

Health & Beauty
Nutrition & Lifestyle

by Vic Shayne, PhD

Beauty is more than skin deep. Real beauty goes to the core of an individual. The same holds true of all skin problems: they come from within and manifest on the outside. Thus, health and beauty are linked arm-in-arm, and if you want to optimize the way you look, including your skin, hair, muscle tone, your weight and your posture, you need to feed your body the nutrients that support your ideal state.

Adjunctive Nutritional Schedule

CaroC: 6 tablets per day
FishOils: 4 capsules per day
FlaxSeed Oil: 1 teasp per day
ProMin Complex: 6 tablets per day
BFood Complex: 6 tablets per day

The skin, hair, nails, bones, cartiladge, muscle, tendons, ligaments, joints, eyes and cardiovascular system all need nutrients that are only found in nature, including vitamins, minerals, coezymes, enzymes, chlorophyll, terpenes, flavonoids, carotenoids, trace minerals, co-vitamins, fiber and amino acids (building blocks of proteins). Without a steady supply of these in your diet (or from food supplements with these nutrients), your body cannot keep your cells young and healthy. As a result, you experience:

  • Brittle nails
  • Dull hair
  • Hair loss
  • Wrinkles and premature aging
  • Skin problems
  • Vision problems
  • Hearing loss
  • Fatigue
  • Weight gain
  • Warts and skin growths
  • Circles around your eyes

Along with taking the proper food supplements, attention to diet, exercise, stress reduction (stress takes years off our lives) and lifestyle is very important. Diet includes everything you eat as well as the foods you avoid. The best place to start is with an Alkaline Diet and then to eat mainly whole foods from these main organically grown food groups: vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and quality proteins. Foods to avoid include all “non foods,” which means all foods with any artificial ingredients, ranging from MSG to artificial coloring.

Exercise is an important factor in health and beauty. A good exercise program promotes the expulsion of toxins from your body out through your skin, via perspiration and respiration. Exercise makes you breathe harder, bringing health-giving oxygen into your system. A healthy digestive system is crucial in this department. The best types of exercise raises your heartbeat, makes you perspire, moves all of the bones and joints, stretches tendons and muscles, and absorbs the mind. It is preferable, in fact, to engage in two types of exercise: one that moves the body and one that allows for mental relaxation. Tai Chi, Yoga and meditative walking soothe the mind, while aerobics, raquetball, tennis and swimming are examples of good body-exercise.

Lifestyle
Moderation is the key to living in optimum health. Natural health pioneer Bernard Jensen once told me, “It’s what you do and eat most of the time that builds or destroys your health.” Obviously, smoking, drinking alcohol, eating junk foods and sugar, not getting enough sleep, overexercising, worrying excessively and not taking the time to still your mind will all take their toll on you. If you see your food as your gateway to feeling better, then it will be easier to give up the vices that cause health problems now and in the long run. A life dedicated to Prevention is unusual, but more and more people are discovering the wisdom in this approach.
